(2003) Hi Tom: I received your e-mail message about the
reunion next month. I'm not going to be able to attend this year, since I have a
conflict with another trip that has been planned for many months. I enjoy the
class website, and appreciate all the work you, Jerry, and no doubt others have put
into this project.
My wife Bobbie and I remain here in Iowa City. We have five grandchildren, four boys,
ranging in age from seven to two. The lone girl is four. Three of them live here in
Iowa City with our oldest daughter Stacey, and two with our younger daughter Sarah in
Sioux Falls SD. Family get togethers are fun, sometimes hectic, but we relish them.
You mentioned my golf in your e-mail. I still play once or twice a week, and had a good
tournament in this summer by winning the Johnson County Senior amateur(ages 50+). We
live only about three blocks from the University of Iowa golf course, Finkbine, but I
play most of the time at Amana, on a beautiful but difficult course.
Bobbie and I are planning on retiring; summer of 2005 for me, and spring 2006 for her.
We made a deal that we would work until we each turned 65 1/2 and then quit cold turkey.
We plan on traveling to those places we could not afford, and/or did not have the time
to visit. New Zealand and Australia are high on the list, along with Scotland (for the golf),
England, Germany, France, etc. Without a doubt, we will attend the 50th reunion in 2008,
assuming we are both still alive and able to get there. P.S. Our health is good.
Say Hi to everyone for me at the reunion. I welcome news from any and all classmates.
